Imagine if he just said "Yeah, I'm satisfied with my play. I've been dominating out there." lol

"I'm not really trippin over it"

Man... he needs to step it up... great fuking defense this game tho

Good. His running to the rim with a guy on him every play has been awful. Needs to use more moves. That said, Luke needs to run more plays where he's creating or can use his speed to get to the rim and finish.

I would run a lot more PNRs and maybe even a couple post plays for him instead of shitty isos at the top of the key.

I think his defense was pretty good tonight. Think he'll play well with a full starting lineup.

He's being used awfully, he has no idea what he's doing literally runs to the mid-post or elbow isolation every time tries to force it to the rim with bully ball tunnel vision it's just bad lol this is not who he is.

codar_B•

Exactly. Hes always trying to force his way through contact. He should use more screens to create.

At this point in his career/development, he really should just be looking for the easy drives/layups and open shots, his game just isn't really ready for anything else as of now.

100% agree with running more PNRs and having him bring the ball up the floor as a point forward when Lonzo isn't playing, similarly to last year.

As for when Lonzo is on the floor, I think he should really just focus on his off-ball movement and get into position for the easy buckets.

Have you seen most of the screens set by our bigs? No wonder we cannot run a pnr game

Yeah man it’s sad. Most Lakers fans are too impatient and don’t see that he is just a 19 year old kid who is not even close to his potential. We gave D Lo the same treatment.

He's played some good defense as of late, though.

He's been underwhelming due to magic and all the hype he generated. Potential is there. Up to the coaching staff and himself to figure out his game. I'm sure it'll come to him. The odds of him being an all star seem unlikely, but with his work ethic, it's not impossible

6

hype or not his shooting percentages are trash, it doesn't matter if you're only hoping for 12ppg, you don't want it to come from that kind of efficiency.

Maybe he'll be another MKG in Charlotte.

We traded the wrong number 2 pick.

He just turned 20.....he's gonna have a lot of ups and downs before he gets to all star caliber. Give it time

cottagecheese24•

I agree. I think lots of fans are disappointed because Magic hyped him up to be the number one option on the teams offense. I believe he will improve from last season but he's still two years away from being able to lead a team.

nolimitdave96•

Good that he knows, but better if he does something about it. He has been A S S.

tsuba5a37•

They need to run real plays for him, like the one in I think the first game where he cut across the key and got the ball from Lonzo and fluidly went into a jumper/fadeaway. He’s still not strong enough to create separation when his defender is riding him so they need to get more creative.

byreeenn•

Teams have figured out how to guard him. Just body him and be physical.

For some reason he lost his ability to explode past his man/break off. Idk what the hell happened.

Hazard_4•

Yeah me neither

ZeroBallz•

There's no reason to give up on Ingram just yet. His problem is mental, his confidence is obviously shot. Coaching staff needs to find a way to reset the kid's confidence.

2
sonamorkcin•

Quit isoing him in halfcourt sets with no other shooters on the floor. You're asking this skinny kid to power to the rim where he should be either shooting over a smaller, mismatched defender or finding an open man and keeping the ball going.

Play to your strengths!

Venom644•

keep shooting

ape_cage•

for as underwhelming as his offense has been, his defense has been surprisingly solid

ELMachoMetro•

At some point we have to start blaming the Laker front office and the coaching staff for not developing players. If DLO breaks out this year it's damning because we're not getting anyone during free agency.
