I Became A Tree
i became a tree,
as my skin hardened,
and left it’s humanity behind
a berry grew from my chest as i
with time and nature grew entwined
with my spirit in the dark,
I felt roots spring from my finger and out into the earth
where i planted myself and absorbed the water
of generations left behind.
my descent into madness began,
when one day I found my,
self,
out in the rain, waiting for you,
but would it ever come?
To see it in picture, in video and colour,
tangible,
but on the other side of the veil,
out of sight, out of mind.
I would die for you,
limited as I am by the touches you betray,
your finger errs on me,
as your eyes withstand,
Y e a r s
to come back to me.
take your time,
take your time,
take your time.
i will be
forever more.
