Sick baby...I'm out of my depth here

My daughter is 15 months old, and this week is the first time she's ever had any kind of gastrointestinal issue, so I have no baseline for what's normal and what's not. She started getting sick on Monday, and she was so limp and lethargic and glassy eyed that I got scared and brought her in to the doctor. Doctor says it's a virus, gives her zofran, tells me to feed her bland food, plenty of fluids, the regular deal. Her fever breaks, she perks right up, has a bit to eat and drink, we're good. Back to normal Tuesday and Wednesday, though her appetite was a bit diminished. This morning, she threw up her breakfast. Except abnormally long naps, was otherwise normal, no fever, so I just thought it was the last bit of the virus hanging on and her stomach just being iffy while she recovers. Gave her just crackers for lunch, and she was barely interested in them. Seemed hungry at dinner time, so we had mashed potatoes and fruit. 30 minutes later, it all came up. Still not running any fever, and now I'm a bit worried. What gives? Is it just the virus still? Is it weird that she's not running fever? I'm gonna call the pediatrician in the morning, but I thought I'd check and see if this is just how stomach bugs go with toddlers: a couple good days and then suddenly more barf. It seems weird to me.

My daughter (3.5) has had a few bouts of vomit. The most recent she threw up 2 days in a row, 1st one in the AM and 2nd time in the PM, so 1 1/2 days apart. She definitely was off and on "better" for the next week or so. I think calling in the morning is a good plan but it's probably just the nature of the beast. I hope she feels better soon!

when my oldest had one of her first stomach bugs she had a lull of al it 2 days between the active vomiting/diarrhea and never really had a bad temperature. I'm not sure if it just she wasn't fully better and even the first step away from the brat diet was just too much or what. they'd never refuse to see her at the doc if I was concerned but it was pretty much the same thing keep it bland, sips and bites at a time, that pedialyte was ok and introduce things slowly when she seems on the mend. otherwise we got the signs of dehydrationto look for and told to wait it out and zofran one time when she was really bad.

Thanks! And yeah, I'm sure they'd see me if I wanted to go in, but I'm trying to avoid taking her anywhere unless I'm sure it's necessary. The two day lull with no symptoms is what's throwing me off, but apparently it happens to other people's kids like that, so that makes me feel better. I'll talk to the ped in the morning, and in the meantime, keep the Febreeze on deck :/

I would try pedialyte to keep her hydrated, and keep off solids until you can a hold of a doctor.

Unfortunately, she won't have anything to do with Pedialyte or watered down gatorade. But she's still wanting to drink water, so she's getting some hydration. Thanks!

We just went through something similar last week. Eventually it ran it's course but it was super weird to have 1-2 days without vomiting and then back to randomly puking again. It took about 6-7 days to really get back to normal.
