Attraction to Affair (Free Verse)
We weaved in the weak ends
An accidental attraction
Until we met at 3 am
The space flowers only bloom at night
Where radios play in waves
The length of blue light
The cicadas hummed our names
The steeples peeked our secrets
They've seen our sin from down below
And up above the piquant
Racing hearts will slow to sprint
Before the drunken haze relents
Before we ever knew the flavor
Of juices of peaches and apples and candor
The hurricane blew letters off the signs
And shifted horoscopes to realign
Stars
Now crossed
I guess this makes us lovers
Like the flameless flicker of a sinking sun
I'll breathe still
As you return
To the arms
Of another
Note: I know, it doesn't make sense... But neither does my life right now. It's the first thing I've written in months, and I'm just drunk enough to post it.
