New update causing multiple crashes

Problem

So I received a new update this morning and proceeded through with it before going to work. Since then, messages app has crashed twice that caused a restart. Each time, my phone started back up, it froze. The screen wasn't even responsive so I couldn't use my unlock pattern and the fingerprint sensor wasn't responding either. I ended having to use the reboot keys (holding down power and volume up simultaneously) four or five times before I could unlock my phone.

This is also another example of multiple issues I've had with this phone in the 5 months I've had. Including Bluetooth constantly disconnecting (which still does but it seems to keep it if I have Play Music open and the speaker still regularly does the annoying clicking static sound).

I'm just asking for any advice to keep this phone semi functioning until it's paid off or even at this point, any direction to get it replaced. I did buy it directly from Google.

Thanks in advance.

Do a factory reset. This fixed my issues.

Thanks for the advice. I did that and so far it's actually worked very well. I was trying to avoid doing a reset in the end because the phone literally had issues right out of the box. No more crashes, my Bluetooth did randomly disconnect once during the day without play music on in the background (but that may have been my fault when I ended a call).

I'm assuming it was the October security update?

It was after the latest security patch.
