2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, front end shake under braking

Wife’s been complaining about her car shaking when you brake from highway speeds for a while now, says she needs new brakes. We bought it a year ago with brand new pads and rotors, though, so I’m not convinced.

I took it for a test drive and sure enough when you brake moderately hard from 60 to about 30 the whole front end of the car shakes. I’m still not convinced it’s the rotors or pads, though, because I can’t feel the shaking or pulsing in the pedal at all.

Every which way I try to google the symptoms I either get warped* rotors, but I can’t feel it in the pedal, or I get the death rattle, but it doesn’t happen when driving along, only under braking.

Does the 2014 Cherokee have an electronic brake pedal that would prevent me from feeling the pulsing of rotors through the pedal? Or is there something else I should be looking into?

Ignore feeling it in the pedal. That doesn't typically happen until it's really bad. Is it shaking in the wheel or your ass. That will tell you which end has a warped caliper.

It’s definitely coming from the forward end.

If it happens while braking chances are it's the brakes. They may not have been brand new and could just have been turned. Just check the brakes and you can shake the front end if your not convinced.

I would also tend to think a crack or hefty warp, as far as pedal feel that may come later, the amount of dampening from the hydraulics or being cycles through abs or abs related traction control could minimize pedal feel to next to none, I have no idea of it'd even be possible to feel under electicaly assisted systems lol.... If by chance brakes are perfect it might be a misread from a faulty wheel speed sensor but I think odds are on the brake rotors fault
