Someone asks you "is Hypnosis Mind Control?"... what do you answer?

Given the recent discussion here: https://www.reddit.com/r/hypnosis/comments/78csvy/friend_hypnotized_by_someone/

I decided to look for professional opinions on the topic.

Here's Igor Ledochowski whitewashing hypnosis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynq_W4Dp07M

The more I see on this, everyone being like "oh, it's all innocent, you can't mind control people", the more I realize those people are literally convincing themselves of this, deluding themselves, in order to evade the ethical conundrum that I am struggling with right now.

Since we talked about whether it's possible before... let's talk about what we can do in order to address this matter as a community.

Should we disclose the real possibilities? What ethical ramifications would that entail?

Is it ethical to use our skills towards selfish ends? Is it ethical to withhold information, or misinform people in order to keep the deeper secrets of hypnosis hidden from the public eye?

To what degree is influencing others acceptable? At which point do we draw the line? At which point does consent cease being consent?

What do you guys think?
