What's with all these... [spoilers]

...android corpses?

So I've played the game all the way to ending E twice now, so no need to worry about spoiling anything.

I recently started my third playthrough and I can't help but notice something that I don't think I ever got an answer for. When going to the robot orgy, there are a bunch of android corpses lying around. Why are they there? The game clearly draws attention to it, so it must have some importance.

A similar moment happens again in the copied city. Pod 042 notes that they were probably placed there deliberately, but why would Adam do that? Surely 9S is more than enough to motivate 2B to fight him there.

Am I missing something super obvious here? Are these meant to foreshadow some of the later plot twists in a convoluted way?
