Majors and UX
Hello,
I'm a second year at university currently studying Art. Would really like to get into UX and/or considering VR/AR.
Been struggling with whether I should double major my Art degree with Computer Science or Psychology.
The Computer Science desire stems from the fact that big companies hire software devs from my school (Facebook, Google, Microsoft, etc.) and I've read from here that it's good to get into a software dev role before transitioning your career toward UX. I also feel it would be nice to market myself as more of a creative engineer who can do both the design and implementation.
The Psychology desire stems from damn near every comment I read that it's important to understand Psychology fundamentals for going into this field (I imagine it's also applicable for VR/AR development as well) not to mention Psychology just sounds interesting as well.
Sincerely,
A troubled student
