Having half of Ulthuan start off at war with half of Bretonnia, and Bordealux start at war with Bastonne is stupid.

Warhammer II

Playing as Bretonnia, I was nonplussed to find Cothique invading and conquering Lyonesse, and Yvresse attacking Carcassone. Also, Bordeleaux military annexed Bastonne almost right away.

I'm sure someone can reason it away, but I just found it stupid and unloreful. It would've been better off to have some starting rogue armies or goblin/orc hordes in the area, or Norscan invaders, rather than having the start big wars of each ME campaign, be the High Elves and Brets wrestling for supremacy.

It's already straining credulity that they're so close on the map, you could basically hit Ulthuan from Lyonesse with a peasant fired from a blessed field trebuchet. It'd be nice if we could at least avoid having the High Elves own the Bretonnian coast in the first 30-40 turns so as to imagine some separation between them.

Lyonesse actually starts at war with both the High Elves and Mousillon. Which is doubly silly.
