Good is evil and evil is good with a scifi/fantasy twist

The idea that good is the true evil and evil is the true good is not new to me, but earlier i connected a different dot.

In Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series there is an agreement between God and the Devil to not interfere with the mortals which Satan freely breaks because God is no longer paying attention.

Then it hit me. There are churches EVERYWHERE. Unfortunately the person sitting next to me couldn't be objective, so... Thoughts?
