Help: S8 Fast charging problem

This started happening a week back. As soon as the screen goes off, screen lights up again and the fast charging falls back to cable charging. Tried different fast chargers and cables, even hard reset the phone but the problem is still happening. It appears to be a software bug and not a hardware one to me. Can someone please explain what has gone wrong with the phone and how can I fix it.
