How do you build a social and dating life in a foreign country as an international student?
I am 18 and started my freshman year of college as an Indian international student in the US.
My English is fluent and I hit the gym often.
However, I have a slight accent, which people detect and are turned off by it. I approach women of different races, including my own (Indian). Yet, I noticed that American women of Indian descent only will date American men of Indian descent or non-Indian men. There is a huge divide between immigrant Indians and Indians born/raised in the US. Even White or East Asian or Black or Hispanic women in the US will only date White men or men of their own races, especially if those men are US born/raised.
How can I get over culture gaps? I have started watching NBA, NFL, Game of Thrones and really would love to meet people and make friends/meet women who enjoy the same activities I do, without having culture gap stop us. I am more interested in GOT, Basketball and video gaming than Bollywood.
I also don't know how to flirt with these girls. I don't know what to say. My roommates take home girls very often and I don't know how they do it.
I have looked into joining a social fraternity and maybe a service/business fraternity later on. Are any of these a good idea? How would I impress brothers as an international student?
And no, I am not pining for blonde White women. This happens with Black, East Asian (both America born/raised and international students), Hispanic and even Indian American women.
