[Discussion] What happened to the free version of FFXIV?

So, I played FFXIV a couple months ago for free, and it wasn't the free trial 30-day trial version because I specifically remember my friend telling me that it was free until a certain level (30, I think?). I uninstalled it because I had other priorities that I would've rather had fill up my computer's memory at the time, which was getting filled up, but now I want to get back into it. However, I see that on Steam, they only have the 30-day free trial version available. Did they get rid of the free level 30 cap or am I just not seeing things right? lol
