Back to Aurelion sol after a long time, what do i need to know?

Hi Asolmains reddit! I have juz returned from a long time of stopping aurelion, I played him during his release for around 1-3 months of one tricking him and went ahead to play stuff like renekton etc in the top lane, I'm not one to do well with a "dps" like mage early so, I'm looking for advice for him, and especially how to survive all in's from champions that have gap closers.

P.S I'm not used to dps character because I played stuff like ad renekton to one shot squishies so dps-ing would take me quite a while to get used to, but I'm still curious about getting back to Asol once in a while because I remember those funny times when you are so fed late game, you just have to use w and watch people enter the grey screen saying "asol is so balanced!" and laughing so badly
