Should i upgrade to Oreo?

I've had a regular sized pixel 1 for about 6 months, sent it back because of terrible battery performance so they sent me an XL 1 back.

The question is should I upgrade to Oreo 8.0? It seems every upgrade I made on my first pixel just made the performance worse and don't want to fall in the same trap.

Any ideas or recommendations?
