Dude screwed us both

Sitting with my wife around Christmas time and she tells me that someone she went to high school with was homeless. He had reached out to her through Facebook. Told her, him and his parents were living in their car. She was very excited to tell me that she had done a good deed. She had bought them a hotel room for the night. Now my wife, is not a charitable person. In the ten years we were together. I cant recall a single selfless act. So i was immediately suspicious and it didn't make any sense anyway. So i ask "you went to high school together. So he is like 35 right? Now both him and his parents are living in a car together? Isn't kind of weird to be 35 living with your parents? especially when they are homeless" She never really explained how that came about. Any way "im glad you did a good deed but that sounds like a scam. Prolly shouldn't give him anymore money."

Fast forward a few months

Wife acting hella shady. Our son has 2k in hospital bills. Her parents lost their job and were on verge of losing their house. Even though she is working a lot more hours she has no money for either of these things. I get real suspicious and pull up her bank info. Turn out she had been paying for a hotel room since Christmas. Most of the other charges were take out to that hotel room, bar tabs and money orders.

One string of charges really stuck out.  It was series of ten balance inquiries from an atm in a bar that over drafted her account her each time. What stuck out about it was i know she was at the movies with me and our son at the time. 

When i confronted her about the charges she proceeded to tell me dumbest story i ever heard in my life. She admitted that she had been supporting the guy from Christmas this whole time. Had even taken our son to see him while i was at work. The balance inquiries were because she had given him her bank card and pin number to use.

However! She wasn't cheating! She was just supporting this man for a few months. Pretty soon the government was going to buy him a dairy farm in another Hendersonville nc (we live in sc). Then he was going to pay back all the money she had given him. So i ask "why would the government buy a homeless man a dairy farm?" " Its part of a program, he just has to wait for them to release the funds." "Are you insane? You've given this $8,000! Its a con! He prolly has three other retarded women doing the same thing!" "No. I trust him he was almost a cop!" "How are you ALMOST a cop?" (Spoiler alert when the pi pulled up his 5 page rap sheet for the divorce. Found out he was almost a cop. One of his arrests was for impersonating one)

Fast forward a few more months. Tried to work it out. went to counseling, took the European vacation we had been paying on for a year, had lots of sex.

Then tax time rolled around. Ex has her own business but doesn't pay taxes. My return covers what she owes. Immediately after i pay our taxes. She announces she is going on a business trip for 3-days....a business trip to Hendersonville nc.

Immediately suspicious, i once again pull her bank records. Turns out she was still paying for the guy. She had just moved him from greenville sc to Hendersonville nc and was just waiting for me to pay for the trip and her taxes before she went to see him again.

Confronted her, once again denies any cheating. Said she told him she supporting him any more and the fact that stayed in the same hotel room that she had been paying for him to stay in. Was simply because she kicked him out and kept the room.

Fast forward to a few days after the divorce.

Ex is bringing my son visitation (red state= women automatically get custody) tells me the story of how she went to see guy....only to be surprised to walk in on him with his GIRLFRIEND. I laugh and tell her "well i told you that from the beginning. Also thought you weren't together sooo why are you so upset he has a girlfriend?" Ex gives me a dirty look and leaves. I sit and continue to have a good laugh...i know its the last one ill have.

I only have visitation with my son and pay a third of my check in child support every week.

I lost my family to a unemployed, homeless, convict.

Bills are piling up...pretty soon ill be the homeless convict
