Can you make decisions or change the outcome of quests?

I'm curious if there are any dialogue choices at all, or if you can change how a quest goes by doing something (or not doing something). I haven't played an AC game since Black Flag but I remember it being pretty much completely linear, I'm not sure if that has changed...
