I have absolouteley no idea what I should do

Hi guys,

I'm a bit lost in this game. I already played some time, made some quests in Goliet etc., but I didn't finish any other main quest so far (besides going to Goliet), simply because I can't. All the main quests are so far away, that when I go there, I'm killed by beasts. I can run through them, yes, but I don't want to run for 15 minutes, making quick saves all the time (or is that how it's supposed to be)?

It feels like I'm missing the "step" between starting the game and playing it. No matter where I go or who I fight I instantly get killed, because I have no armor, and no weapon and everyone is so much stronger than me.

I read the beginner's guide on here which told me to get a companion really fast who can do that stuff for me and I got Duras, but then he tasked me with finding Askor's murder .

When I found out that it was him I turned him in and now when I'm on my camp he wants to kill me and I have no chance, so how do I get another companion? I found Ray, but to get to ray I have to travel so far, that when I go there someone kills me... I also can't skill anything because no one has asked me again if I'm a cleric, berserk or outlaw and all the other stuff is too expensive
