Does Google remove reviews resulting from promo code giveaways?

I recently gave out some promo codes for my app, which resulted in a small flurry of favourable reviews. I got them as notifications from the Play Console app, but on tapping the notifications, the reviews were not there, nor did they show up later.

Could Google have categorised them as fake/paid-for reviews? Is this an official policy regarding promo codes?
