Oldrim or SSE?

I love modding but I haven't played much skyrim since it came out. Has SSE mods caught up? Can I use skyui with SSE? Or there are better mods like skyUI to make the inventory system less terrible. Anyways just lookin for someone to sway me either way. I heard I can finally alt tab in SSE which sounds amazing. Is there good enbs also? Thanks guys.
