Upgrading my CPU and motherboard

I currently have a R9 380 4gb, intel pentium G3258, 8gb ddr3 and a Asus Z97-P. I was looking at getting a ryzen 5 1500x and a Asus strix b350-f, I was wondering if this would work or if there is anything else I should look at for a similar price.
