Couldn't be luckier

I've just now wrapped up my second week at a new job and I couldn't be happier with my boss and co-workers. I had a lot of anxiety going into the job stemming from some negative experiences in the past.

I know a lot of the time people want to be understood and that generally speaking aspergers is somewhat hard for people to understand. I haven't really worried too much about whether people actually understand me though. Just a bit of friendly tolerance goes a long way.

I love my boss, he doesn't feel the need to understand. He just accepts that I am a bit strange and might have the odd unusual need or request. I went in today(my day off) to make such a request actually. I've been told that I am 'putting everyone else to shame' with my work ethic and anything I need to avoid burning out is fine. The lack of need to explain my every irregularity feels like a boulder falling from my shoulders. I think if every boss was like mine a lot more aspies would be employed

It's so great to be appreciated for what you can do and given mercy for what you cannot.
