The V30 camera in auto mode is an absolute embarrassment

The cleaner image is taken using the auto setting on a Nexus 6. In comparison the V30's picture lacks so much detail you can't recognize my son's face. https://imgur.com/vUJDDqB https://imgur.com/gFAk1i6

Is anyone else having this poor of results because the images this camera is taking is an absolute disappointment. Video is amazing but still images are just terrible.

Images taken at home in the same lighting conditions turned out exactly the same. The V30 crushed any detail and filled the images with noise. The Nexus 6 produced more detail, less noise, and more accurate colors.

Did they ship these things with fault cameras or are they this bad in low light?
