Regarding emotes on PS4

I'm not sure how many of you have actually tried or noticed, but every time I use an emote for the first time in the match it completely laggs the game for everyone. My friend and I have been testing this for a bit now and from our experience the emotes are some of the factors in the massive lag spike in the opening game. Has anyone else tried using an emote in the beginning of the match and gotten a massive frame drop/lag? Not sure if it's the same for PC.
