This really annoys me

Every episode of the orville I watch afterwards I have to hear: "the episode is a rip off of this ... " Everything is a rip off of something, why is the Orville seemingly the only one that is subject to this critisism? If you look upon popular stories these days you will find most of them rip off something that was popular before and put its own spin on it.
