I accidentally bent a 2mm sheet of "ALMGSI 0.5/F22 alloy", how can I bend it back without it cracking/breaking?
I hope it's OK to ask questions here.
I have several large sunroom panels with aluminum frames made of this stuff, 2mm thick. The panels were dropped and several of them have frame damage. The worst ones have about 3x3 inches at the corner bend 90 degrees up and outward. I haven't tried to bend anything back yet for fear of it cracking.
Could anyone tell me more about this metal and how I could safely bend it back mostly straight? Cold bend? Heat gun to a specific temp with an IR thermometer? Anything else?
EDIT: I found out that this aluminum alloy is also called 6063.
