Underused Hero: Draculoki
Alright, so to keep up with the Halloween theme, after considering the accessibility and usage, there's still another one that's rather easy to access, yet not used much at all. That I've decided to 5* to test for the guide, that hopefully, Ateam will not give out for free or I'm going to be very sad Joking, it's cool if Ateam decided to give them out, so that people could actually get to use the heroes I write about. Today's hero: Draculoki
Count Draculoki
#Overall
One winged vampire. Alright, let's take it. The dood is near unusable in Arena.
| HP | ATK | MATK | DEF | MDEF | SPD | EVA | ACC | Fire | Water | Earth | Light | Dark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 28068 | 4392 | 2639 | 2772 | 2887 | 3058 | 2640 | 2661 | 2.5 | 1.5 | 2.0 | 1.0 | 3.0 |
With just a look at first glance, bad HP for a melee and DEF that is lower than Skuld, with weakness to Light, you immediately know that he will get crushed. You then start to ask "Why the heck did you spent time and stamina into 5* purpling him at all you stupid Garm addict?". You next look at his active skill to see if he's even usable.
| Skill | Description |
|---|---|
| Bloody Trick | 45% Dark ATK damage to enemy with highest ATK 5 times & restore HP equal to 50% of damage dealt to self 5 times. |
With the recently released sp/X that does the exact same thing as his skill, you immediately think "Hey, this guy's actually super sustainable in connects!", yes, with the correct gear to fix his heartbreaking DEF(and you do not even need to fix it in MATK based connects), he can actually stay alive AND do damage in any connect he's not detrimental to put in!^(for example, I'm going to crucify anyone who uses him in Hrung...)
That brings me another guide writer to mind, one that's been writing guides about connect battles lately and has been doing great! For those who are already aware of this person and not, I introduce you: u/Aryuto.
- Hi I was told there would be hookers and blow
I...wha? Well--anyway, this will be a collaboration guide in text format, which will be weird as hell, as unlike videos, you have no means of telling who's saying what(we use google docs to edit the same document at the same time), but I'll to try to make this as less awkward as possible. We'll be going by Aryuto's format since connects probably are the only places you would really get to use him, sooooo:
| Rating | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 0 | Garbage. Unit is literally unusable here due to a mechanic that hard counters them to the point they are an overall detriment to your team. |
| 1 | Mediocre at best. Usable, but there are way better options. May be borderline unusable due to mechanics or resistances. |
| 2 | Good. Unit is strong here, there may be downsides but is still a very viable pick, particularly if working with a small unit stable. |
| 3 | Great to overwhelming. There -may- be slightly better endgame options but for most people it will be difficult or impossible to outperform the unit here in terms of ease of use and value. |
Now let's get to the meat of the guide!
#Connects
Draculoki has decent-to-good Fire, Earth, and Dark resists, with mediocre but very usable Water and... ok his light res isn't GOOD, but most people don't have infinite free healing either, so it kinda sorta works out?
In addition to what my man Luz noted above, having a metric fuckload of multihits is REALLY good for connects in terms of activating Break status on the boss, which is a connect-wide ~30% damage increase I would estimate. This factor pushes him from a 2 to a 3 in some connects, or a 0/1 to a 2 in others.
Fenrir: 0
- He gets frozen by auto+active, has bad water res, and deals damage of a type Fenrir has a 3.0 resistance in. You... honestly can't do much worse than Draculoki here, lol.
Surtr: 2
- Surtr has surprisingly mediocre (2.0) Dark resist so Draculoki does OK damage and his healing/ high Fire res ensure he has zero issues surviving. Note that he will get random feared by front crystals though, and doesn't contribute at all to killing them - not the ideal unit so much as just a decent, survivable DPS.
Hrungnir: 0
- 3 guides in I'm already sick and tired of explaining why you shouldn't use melee grounded attack-based heroes vs Hrungnir. But yeah... don't.
And I said I’ll crucify any who actually uses him here.
Marmalade: 3
- Draculoki's damage type, gender, resists, and survivability are all good to great for this connect. He will fuck up Marmalade and casually facetank everything. However, DO NOT use him as frontline tank, front crystals sleep Aesir and while 1.5 water res is acceptable, not actually good.
Nidhogg: 1
- Look, Nidhogg has 3.5 Dark res. Draculoki is a technically acceptable filler but loses pretty much everything special about him, from damage to healing. At least his bad defense doesn't hurt him here and you could fill him up with Light attack gear if you genuinely have nothing better?
Aegir: 0
- Aegir's low Dark res looks tempting, but there are just too many crippling problems for him to work well here. Her anti-male Slow aura sucks, but it's only a small part of the story; the crystals that give her Dark reflect fuck his damage and can get him killed, and the REALLY big problem is with 7* Aegir where you need to kill crystals a bit before the boss to have a window to heal up - Draculoki minimizes or removes that window by focusing boss instead of crystals, directly screwing everyone in the connect. Removing the dark reflect barrier just means he can close that window faster. No one wins.
- He can't even utilize his signature heal due to the curse from the crystals, really, don't use him.
Vidofnir: 2
- Draculoki's strong Fire resist and Vidofnir's 2.0 Dark res means that vampire husbando does an OK job of being a generic DPS who doesn't die. He's nothing particularly special here, he's no Vidar or anything, but is perfectly usable.
Jormungand: 1
- Draculoki is a solid choice here hiding behind a melee tank. Avoiding the mega nukes from backrow crystals and Jormungand allows him to easily weather the Holy Field with his lifesteal, and his strong Dark damage hits the boss effectively. That said, killing Jorm is rarely the problem - it's almost always killing the backrow crystals giving Jorm huge shields and MATK buffs. Draculoki... doesn't help much with that. And by much I mean literally at all unless you give him a Hatchet or something. He is also hot trash in mage/ranged heavy comps since he has zero chance whatsoever of facetanking backrow crystal nukes doing 15-25k+ damage a pop to his underwhelming Light res. He looks great on paper but my experience with Jorm has always been that prioritizing backrow crystals MASSIVELY speeds up and safens the fight, actually killing Jorm after that is a complete joke.
Thiazi: 3
- There's something to be said for targeting a 0.8 boss resist with high, extremely spammable damage in a connect where crystal crushing is trivially easy anyways, and having solid Earth/Fire res and acceptable Water res allows you to basically ignore the boss's damage even before considering his great healing. Even better, despite his unfortunate Aesir typing in this connect, Draculoki has unusually high MDEF for a melee which makes it fairly easy to avoid the water crystal's low-MDEF targeting... though you should still try to make sure that crystal goes splat ASAP in general so your healer, Odin (if applicable), and Draculoki don't have to worry about it at all.
- Which is a fairly easy thing to do, since Thiazi’s crystals have a notable low HP, a couple hits from non-elemental LBs, which Draculoki happens to have, would finish the job most of the time.
Heidrun: 1
- At least Loki has ballin Light damage to carry him to an easy 3 in this connect; Draculoki does the worst possible element of damage, essentially negating his usual damage and survivability advantages - while his higher dark res makes up for his lower defense vs normal Loki, that's about all he actually has going for him here. Like, yea, he can survive OK here, but why not just use one of the 20 million other units who bend Heidrun over their knee? Pretty much everyone has Thor built anyways, normal Loki exists and is underrated af for connects and great in two Super Connects anyways, and you pretty much already removed any real need for Draculoki here.
Fapnir: 3
- Draculoki will never be a GREAT DPS here due to Fafnir's 2.8 Dark res significantly dampening DL's damage output, but Draculoki's massive quantity of multihits - multiple 5 hit SPs and a 5 hit active - make him an AMAZING barrier basher, and his solid Earth res counteract his shit defense. Just be aware that if he gets def break'd while fafnir has a crystal attack buff up and you get RNG dicked, he's probably gonna blow up pretty fast, make sure he has some defense from gear or at least accessories for safety.
Sinmara: 3
- High Fire res, Aesir race ignoring active/auto Fire Wound, Dark damage to blow the fuck out of boss, lots of healing to ignore whatever mediocre damage she does to him anyways, and a lack of major need for crystal crushing all combine to make Draculoki heavily dominant against fire princess waifu. Just be aware that he doesn't work so hot as frontline tank due to being perma feared by backrow crystals. That said, honestly, there are so few units that are REALLY good against Sinmara that I believe draculoki EASILY deserves a strong 3 here despite not hitting her Water weakness - he's just so safe and so reliable
Boelthor: 0
- Lol Aesir targeting Dark resist in Boelthor. How about no?
- Using dps Aesir in Boelthor is the same as using ATK damage in Hrung.
KILL THE HERETIC.
Hraesvelg: 0
- Hraesvelg utterly cripples Aesir throughout the fight, disabling actives AND items, and does Light damage (albeit not much of it to Draculoki himself due to far-2 targeting). You shouldn't be bringing Aesir anyways, but Draculoki is a whole new level of crap here.
Sleipnir: 3
- Yeah yeah he has a 1.0 Light res and low def and Sleipnir does Light ATK damage, whatever, Draculoki is still pretty much dog's gift to mankind here. Sleipnir doesn't actually DO that much damage anyways (though he will likely target DL) and the extreme value for monstrous single-target Dark damage, mixed with his fantastic healing, means that honeydraculoki doesn't give a SHIT either way. Just make sure he has enough defense to not get cucked by RNG focus targeting+active/auto/field spam.
#Conclusion
Draculoki is handsome, Loki is handsome, and both are excellent husbandos. Both of them pales in comparison to Garm And good units too I guess. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the weird written collaboration thing. We’ll be seeing you in our next guides!
