But be it because you messed up, an uncontrollable circumstance, or some tragedy you've lost them?

The kind of person that you just can't forget. If you list out all of your preferences or what makes you happy they tick basically all the boxes. Someone who made you feel whole.

And for better or worse you keep thinking back on the time you had together.. and everyone even for just a moment gets compared to them instead of your list of things you want in a relationship.

I know I have. And it hurts. Not only because I worry that I won't ever be accepted by someone or feel completed by someone the same way, but that the memory or experience i had with them will make it unfair for someone I do try to pursue...
