"Exponential Tech Investor" Investment Newsletter Subscription

A little more than a month ago I started subscribing the above, "Exponential Tech Investor" newsletter. The promotion was really good. It gives sense of time urgency, that is you must act before Apple announcement of new release of iPhone X (last September) because there is a tech company whose product will probably be used by Apple with huge potential. 30-day money back guarantee. Yearly subscription cost USD 2,500. It comes from Bonner and Partner, supposedly a respected investment newsletter company. I took the offer. I bought the stock of the tech company recommended before Apple announcement. But the product of the company was not used by Apple and the stock tanked. I lost 25% of the invested money within a month and I sold it. However this is not what I am complaining. What I am complaining is when I asked a refund of unused portion of my subscription, someone name Sarah D. from customer support (after my third email) said that I can not have any refund because I was beyond refund period. I replied that it was never stated in the promotion that no refund beyond 30-days (I subscribe several other investment newsletters and they have this unused portion refund policy). At first she ignored my question above and just said "Per your request, we have canceled the auto-renewal for your paid subscription of Exponential Tech Investor as of 10/27/2017. Your subscription will expire on 9/1/2018." I explained the reason why I wanted to cancel my subscription. Who wants to continue if the first glorified and much promoted reco does not work? I emailed her again to address my concerned about refunding the unused portion of my subscription. And this what she said: "I reviewed the offer you signed up for and it did stated a 30-day money back guarantee. I am sorry for any confusion but this does mean once outside the money back guarantee you would not receive any refund". That 30-day money back guarantee is for FULL REFUND. She twisted it in such a way as if I am not eligible at full for any refund. And her email is always terse. Underneath each email there is this paragraph: "Our goal is to provide you with excellent customer service. If you should have any further questions please let us know..... etc etc". In my opinion the service is far below good, much less excellent.

Moral of the story: before you subscribe an investment newsletter, please explicitly ask if after 30-day money back guarantee, i.e. full refund, you'll get unused portion of your subscription refunded, especially with Bonner and Partner. I frankly never had this experience with other investment newsletters.

I certainly hope what Sarah D did does not reflex the policy of Bonner and Partner. But you never know........
