Hostile community, or what? (xposted to a few drone subs)

I've been browsing this subreddit (and several other drone related subreddits) for about a week now, and I can't help but notice the number of posts with 0, or very few, karma.

I always think, "oh, this must be some lame stationary panning shot with no real quality or originality", but that is almost never the case.

This leaves me wondering why the drone community appears to be so hostile, and doesn't encourage me to share any of my content here.

Can anyone help me understand why this might be? Am I crazy, or is there something I'm missing?
