Please help me find an ideal delay

I got bored of my TC Flashback and now I'm looking for something original. The difficult part is that my band is pretty much just starting so I can't tell what music exactly we will be playing. I'm definitely inspired by ambient, shoegaze post rock-ish sound but also more dirty post-punk and some of 80s synthesizer influenced music. Many things.

I am looking for delay that is definitely limited in a way - I don't want to personalize everything, so thanks Strymon but no. On the other hand I would like it to be capable of many things - to make classic delay sounds, long swells but also sounding glitchy or unpredictable and going well with dirt. That gets weird with knob twisting. (However I won't be able to do any sorcery on the go since my hands will be busy with my guitar - that's what I always think watching Knobs channel)

I was really impressed by the sound of Death by Audio Echo Dream 2 but I'm afraid that it won't handle long delays and most of standard stuff. Now this would be a perfect delay if it had tap tempo and could do standard delay things. I also liked Boss RE-20 but it's too expensive and too large for what it can do imo. I thought that EQD Avalanche Run might suit me but it didn't really impress me and I read that it didn't go well with dirt. And so am I not impressed by Chase Bliss Tonal Recall - it surely can do many things (most of them lol) but doesn't sound original to me.
