Is Hubdoc a good choice for managing receipts/paper? Is there a better option? (xp r/Bookkeeping)

I'm helping an out of town friend with daily bookkeeping, but am finding it challenging to have their secretary send me copies of all their statements/invoices via email and manually enter the info.. I see a lot of your do remote bookkeeping, so I'm guessing there's a better way. I use Quickbooks Accountant version and it looks like hubdoc integrates with quickbooks online only. Any advice?
