A little question about the pronunciation of words like "mental"

Hi. I'm not sure if I should ask that here but I don't know where else I can go, so forgive me if I shouldn't.

I'm not a native speaker of English and I was watching a show starred by a Irish, and found that he pronounced words like "little" or "mental" or "battle" with a weird sound in the end, like there's no space between his tongue and upper mouth. What does that sound called?
