Teradata SQL Volatile Table Help

Hi there,

I need to create 3 volatile tables in teradata sql assistant (imported from excel, saved as csv files), perform an analysis in SQL, and then generate an output into excel.

The problem is, when I save the excel files as CSV and use that file to import as a volatile table into teradata, it seems excel tends to "forget" the formatting (i.e. drops leading zeroes, changes date convention, etc. [even when formatted as text]) and thus changes the "analysis" part.

Is anyone familiar with this problem, and if so, is there a better way of importing temporary tables into Teradata without the risk of losing the specific formatting of your upload file?
