My Love Story/Ore Monogatari Question

So I recently bought the first volume of the manga for this series since I loved the anime so much, but I read afterwards that the anime actually covered up to volume 10/11 out of 13. Just curious about how accurate this is or if there was a decent amount of content skipped over, because now I actually can't see myself wanting to continue for so few volumes of new content, compared to something like My Little Monster, which had 9 volumes of material not covered by the anime.
