Comparison of StormSpy.net, HotS.guide and Heroes.report
Currently there are 3 web services that use data from HotsApi.net, but until now I had no idea when and how to use each of them. Thus, I made a simple guide based on personal opinions. This is a very quick and dirty review, so there may be errors. Point them out!
StormSpy.net : The Simple Guy
- Simple, minimalistic interface
- Small set of common features: Hero winrates, talent winrates, popular talent builds, filtered by patch versions, maps, and game modes.
- Good for visualizing popular and successful talent builds
HotS.guide : The Trendy Guy
- Single page app, responsive site, great UX
- Similar features to StormSpy.net, but lacks graphs
- Only site that provides detailed talent descs (no need to visit HeroesFire for theorycrafting!)
- May be visually overwhelming due to oversized icons and small paddings
- Great if you want to find a build quickly
Heroes.report : The Math Guy
- Provides a massive amount of detailed stats: damage, heals, exp farmed, K/D/A, you name it.
- Impressive graphs
- Provides the best filtering options, including MMR
- UI is much better since improvements, still needs more work though.
- Currently provides the only means of tracking individual performance, by parsing your own replays in the browser.
