a morbidly funny anecdote
so I've had OCD since I was 6, and the rituals mostly revolved around my relatives/friends dying ("DO THIS OR SOMEONE FROM YOUR FAMILY WILL DIE!!"). the symptoms were slowly fading away as I grew older, but right now they're almost non-existent (aside from situations when the rituals happen automatically, without second thought)
you know how they stopped?
my dad died two months ago and the realization hit me like a ton of bricks: the rituals solve absolutely nothing. they're just a glitch in the brain and nothing more.
i knew this before, of course, but this situation just made me get it 100%. fuck ocd. also, fuck cancer.
