Went to a festival the other day

It was on a farm where they had chickens you could feed. A guy next to me was feeding a chicken and in the middle he leaned in and whispered to it "you're gonna make a good dinner one day". Not much of a point here but Ive just been thinking about it a lot. How do you look something in the eyes and say something like that?
