Rude nurse in NHS - is this Crumbs DSis??
I’m back in hospital with an infection & large blood clot following an operation last week. My op was in a private hospital but my consultant transferred me to an nhs hospital this time to monitor me closer (he’s based he more often) I’m actually on a ward as the private suite didn’t have any rooms - I didn’t know this was going to be the case.
Last night a nurse came at my request to give me pain relief and bought me the wrong type, I tried to explain what I’d been prescribed but she was clearly in a bad mood and actually started to argue with me. I told her I couldn’t believe she was being so rude. I’m an intelligent person and won’t stand for people patronising me esp when I’m ill and in agony!
Can I make a complaint? I know nurses are overstretched but this was totally uncalled for. To make matters worse she kicked my husband out who was just sat sharing my headphones watching a film because ‘he was distracting the other patients’ we had the curtain pulled round us!! Then she proceeded to gossip and giggle with 2 other nurses from 1am to 4am in a room which meant I had no sleep.
It’s not the service you expect when you are trying to get better!
