My experience Micro Dosing for 3 weeks
I've been micro-dosing acid for the past 3 weeks, and it has been a life changing experience. Other than experiencing the enhanced beauty of nature and everything in general, I've become extremely aware of my own emotions and the emotions of others. Being a male, culturally we are taught to suppress our emotions, when micro-dosing acid, for me, I was unable to suppress anything, all emotions I had were amplified and I was unable to ignore them, it's like after years of damming up my emotions, they were finally able to come out.
I've had positive and negative effects. The positive effects are that I'm so much more in tune with my emotions now, i've usually taken a more reserved and quiet cool guy attitude which I feel was actually me holding back my emotions and expressing myself. I feel that the micro dosing made me aware of the walls I had up which were preventing me from connecting with people deeper and expressing my true emotions.
I'm an occasional freelance photographer and it allowed me to connect with models deeper and more sensitively, I was able to imbue the heightened level of emotion into my photography as well, I was also able to appreciate colours and forms and reflections at a deeper level as well.
I became ultra aware of how negative my workplace was, I realised that I had to lower my enthusiasm and positive energy in order to fit in at my workplace, there were so many things that needed to be innovated at my workplace, and I remember feeling how I couldn't express my true emotions or I'd risk getting fired, I was ultra aware of how fake I had to be to fit in, I ended up quitting last weekend .
During my time micro dosing I also attended a group interview at Apple, I would not recommend this if your not comfortable with public speaking! haha. I think i took a little too much aswell. Being quite self conscious in front of crowds, I was very aware of my insecurities. I really didn't like the atmosphere of competing for a position, yet having to act like best friends with everyone, it felt fake and forced, I was very aware of the underlying competitiveness and I didn't like it. We had to do group improvisation and when it was my turn I couldn't find the right word and got stuck for a bit, but in saying that, I didn't care much either, the whole thing was really uncomfortable experiment but I wouldn't take back the experience, it was quite interesting.
The negative effects were that after micro dosing quite often over the period of 3 weeks, I had become so aware of my emotions, so much that I couldn't hide my true feelings and emotions from people, sometimes though that's not the best state to be in, like in job interviews, or talking to a girl you like, or sometimes you just don't want people to know how you really feel as you'd be embarrassed.
It's quite amazing how micro-dosing is such a great tool for understanding your emotions and self reflection.
One tip i'd give is that, just because you are capable of a heightened awareness and sensitivity of your emotions, don't expect that other people can read your emotions like you can as well. Most people are suppressing their true emotions so there's not much chance that they can read yours. Just remember that so you don't turn schizophrenic or get paranoid that others are reading your mind haha.
I'm backing off for a few weeks now and just going to focus on meditation and exercise and eating healthy. Emotional awareness and the general heightened awareness of beauty is great, and I highly recommend it if you are a very self reflective, you want to get in tune with your emotions, you want to be more creative etc. But be careful if your mentally a bit unstable or have depression as I think that if you don't know how to deal with the feelings that can come up, if you can't self-psychotherapy yourself, then it could be dangerous.
