I Absoutely Regret Upgrading to 1440p. Here's why.

Hey PCMR, I thought I'd share a story with you guys. That is, that I wish I didn't go to 1440p.

Awhile back, I got a 1440p 144hz monitor, and as everyone said the 1070 is the sweet spot for that resolution. I would honestly put an asterisk at the end of that claim. The 1070 can certainly handle 1440p, but with some compromises. Even running stuff at High you have to constantly tweak to get a solid 60 in some games. Some games it doesn't matter.

At this point I'm just done with tweaking. I run at 1080p 144hz. Set the game to high/ultra high and boom I get uncompromised frames. Its easy, less headache.

Unless you want to spend for a beefy rig, 1080p 144hz is where its at. I want to get a primary 1080 144hz for my main and make my 1440p my secondary until one day I can afford a rig that can handle getting those high frames at that resolution.
