Lightroom CC Performance

Performance in the new Lightroom CC seems to be pretty shoddy. On my 2015 MacBook Pro scrolling a library with just a couple of hundred photos on it is jerky like a flipbook when I bump the screen resolution up from the default 1280 x 800. Something that Apple's Photos manages with buttery smoothness with a library of 1,000s of images and arguably more functionality. Come on Adobe, sort it out, if this is brand new software how come the performance is already laggy before it's been bogged down with feature creep?
