How to get out of gold!

I’m currently stuck in gold 3! I’ve been to platinum once but went straight back down! How do I need to work on to get to platinum! I’m a very simple player as I have never been in rocket league training! All I can do is a simple Ariel, most ground shots, simple dribbles and that’s it! I can’t redirect or air dribble or any crazy shots! What do I need to work on and how can I work on it! I recently tried redirect training and all I can do is just hit the ball so I gave up! If it helps I’ve been in gold 3 for 1 month!
