How do you measure your market performance?

I am searching for some ideas about how to measure if I am doing well trading/investing or not. In theory, if total marketcap is now 15x when I started and I 30x my money I am better than an index fund (which doesn't exist) for example but is it really that simple? Do you just compare it vs keeping bitcoin all this time maybe?
