cold sore scar! help!! [skin concerns]

have had cold sores all my life... usually able to stop early onset with medication, but most recently was not able to and had an outbreak. I "nudged" the scab off probably a bit earlier than I shouldve, but it was already starting to come off, and it did not bleed when it did come off. Now it has been 2 weeks since i've had a scab and the area where the sore was is very pink and shows no signs of getting lighter... It has never taken this long for the pigmentation to subside, so now I am worried it's an actual scar that will be this color forever. I've picked scabs before too (I know I shouldn't_, and never has it had this effect. I am so self conscious about it, and keep reading mixed things on the internet whether it's possible to have this be discolored forever.... help! Is it just a matter of waiting, or am I screwed? I've had the discoloration for longer than I had the actual cold sore now. The skin texture also seems different from normal skin

Note it also changes in how "pink" it is throughout the day, sometimes it will be barely noticeable, and at other times of day it will suddenly be very pink/borderline light red again
