Day 127 - The Morning Drink
I stopped at a gas station this morning to grab a coffee. A guy is his 20s came in right after me and headed straight for the beer cooler. He grabbed a tall boy of Mickeys and a 12oz Tecate for good measure.
He was fidgety while in line, swaying back and forth. I know that feeling all too well. To NEED a drink to quiet the nerves. To not give a damn who sees you buying liquor first thing in the morning.
My heart goes out to that guy. I don't believe that anybody wants to be in that situation. There's nothing fun about it. I know that I'm only one drink away from being right back there.
The worst part about it is that only he can stop the madness. Many people tried to talk some sense in to me. I couldn't hear them. As they say, "it takes what it takes."
