Should i contact him again or leave it?

We had been chatting on Facebook for a while and eventually met up and went out for drinks then at his house chatting. I thought it went well. He did try to take things further at one point, but i wouldnt. When I got home I texted thanks for the date, had a great time. His response was kind of " you're welcome, glad we met"... i suggested meeting again and he said he was busy next couple of weekends but we can sort the details later. I said that's fine, to let me know and mentioned an art display happening in my area the next month. He didn't reply. That was three weeks ago. I'm a bit gutted that I've not heard from him, as I really liked him and I did feel it was mutual. But his messages afterwards gave me doubt. I'm tempted to message him a brief hello on Facebook, do you think I should? I thought it's possible he didn't get my text, though he probably did. Or will I just look desperate? Thanks in advance.
