List of upcoming banners with hastega + party stat buff SBs

I went through the future banners reference guide put together by u/Mr_Doe, looking for banners with high chances of pulling good hastega + stat buff SBs, to see if there were any hidden gems.

Good news for Onion lovers: The hyped Onion Knight USB banner is way up there, both in terms of chance-to-pull and in terms of relic power. You have a 42% chance per 11-pull of getting at least one of his USB1, USB2, or BSB.

There are actually a couple other banners with an equivalent chance of pulling hastega+buffga SBs, though they're not as big of game-changers as OK's USBs.

A large portion of the upcoming events have at least one banner with a hastega+buffga, so if you're pulling for other stuff, you may get one of these by surprise!

The high-chance banners and full list are below, but first, a few things to note about this list:

  • This list doesn't include good stat-buff SBs that happen to lack hastega.
    • Deployment Tactics (Alphinaud SSB) is an older example. It grants party ATK/MAG+30% and Radiant Shield, but no hastega. Still useful, though.
    • Non-hastega buff SBs can be used in addition to the ones listed here, or as a complement to the next excluded category.
  • This list also doesn't include hastega SBs that lack stat buffs.
    • Guardian Mog (Eiko USB) is an example: an instant medica, hastega, and party Last Stand is extremely good. But it doesn't have stat buffs, so it's not here.
  • There are many other factors that play into selecting which banners to pull on. OP DPS relics, medicas, realm coverage, elemental coverage, your favorite characters, etc. are all good reasons to pull on a banner that doesn't have the relics here. For example, the FFX banner has extremely good water relics. Look at what you need/want and plan accordingly!

Mini beginner FAQ: What is a hastega + stat buff SB, and why would I care?

For the hardest content, it's nearly required to have at least one SB that grants the entire party Hastega plus stat buffs, either natively or as a RW. Some of the most common ones are Shout (Ramza SSB), Vessel of Fate (Onion Knight BSB), and Hyper Mighty G (Rikku USB).

Hastega means your party's turns come up twice as quickly, and stat buffs help your party do more damage and take less damage. This kind of SB is considered one part of the late-game SB "trinity" - the other categories are Wall and medicas.

Which event banners have the best shot at a hastega + stat buff relic?

These give a 3% chance per orb, or 42% per 11-pull (1 guaranteed 5* and up, other 10 are 3* and up):

    • Rapha USB: party Haste, MAG+30%, magic quickcast 3; self en-lightning
    • Montblanc SSB: party Haste, MAG/MND+30%
  • [FFXIII] Crossroads of Time, banner 1
    • Snow BSB2: party Haste, ATK/MAG+30%; self Burst Mode
    • Serah SSB2: party Haste, MAG/MND+30%
  • [FFIII] Warriors of the Decisive Battle, sole banner
    • Onion Knight USB1: party Haste, MAG/MND/RES+30%, magic quickcast 3; self EX mode "Sage" (stacking MAG+30%, BLK damage +15%)
    • Onion Knight USB2: party Haste, ATK+50%, crit-chance = 50%; self EX mode "Ninja" (stacking ATK+30%, cast speed 1.3x to 3.4x depending on # attacks used in a particular EX duration)
    • Onion Knight BSB: party Haste, ATK/MAG+30%; self Burst Mode

2% chance per orb, or 30% per 11-pull:

    • Machina SSB: party Haste, RES+100% ^(stacks with Shellga), crit-damage +50%

Honorable mention "1-2%" per orb:

  • [FFT] Prisoners of the Holy Ghost banner 1, the Orlandeau OSB banner
    • Ramza BSB2: party Haste, ATK+50%; self en-holy, Burst Mode
    • Alma USB ^(*no stat buffs): party Haste, Protect, Shell, High Regen, Astra, Reraise: 40%

Longer explanation for why I say Alma USB has no stat buffs:

  • Protectga and Shellga raise DEF and RES respectively, but they're actually special statuses, so they don't strictly count as stat buffs. They stack separately and aren't subject to the buff cap.
  • One disadvantage to them: Protectga and Shellga will get dispelled by standard boss dispels, whereas stat buffs like Wall will stick around through normal dispels.
  • Stat buffs aren't bulletproof, though - an "ultimate dispel" will dispel stat buffs in addition to normally dispelled statuses.

Note about Tyro USB3 festival banner:

  • Tyro USB3 will be released in a festival banner in maybe half a year. It grants party Haste, Protect, Shell, and DEF/RES+200% - basically Wall on steroids.
  • It'll almost definitely be a 1% relic, which is a 16% chance per 11-pull.
  • JP's banner had 4 hastega+buffga relics total, which is a 52.5% chance per 11-pull of getting any of those. However, as usual, the festival banner is subject to change when it arrives in Global.
