I am moving to vegas, 100% purple heart veteran, please give me advice and tips!
I have loved vegas since 1980, visiting my grandma near the big flea market in north vegas. Wife of 28 years (no kids, lost one in 94) has been holding me off of moving there for a few years now, she is scared but excited. we have lived in morro bay ca, for over 25 years, and its is so expensive and simple, we need some excitement and new experiences. I have never had a house with a pool, but I am getting one now. I am retired she is retired, I am 100% cause I was hit by a mortar and shot in Iraq 2007, been putting me back together for ten years, I am now stable, yet need a few more surgeries, nothing big. We LOVE vegas, always have, been vacationing here for years, week at a time. now I'm coming for sure!! two things I am not sure of, so please help.
- California does not have many benefits for veterans, how is it in vegas? Are veterans treated nicely? Any veterans hangouts?
- got the rent and utilities scoped out, any other extra costs for living in vegas, other than cooling costs in summer? In ca EVERYTHING is expensive except the beach, what is the biggest cost to living in vegas, besides rent? I appreciate any input, and cant wait to live in my own rented house(not a small box for 2200. a mo)! and swim in a pool in my backyard, while my wife and dog and cat smile with me. more info about me,, 45 she is 47, dog is jack russle 40 pounds, we have no kids, not many friends or family (all veterans all dead), and we make 5k a mo. ps . I should use a realator? do I pay them? sooo many questions... ha but.... I am coming!!! woot. thanks and god bless. Pss, I am looking at summerlin, Henderson, or south west. right?
